Lid were active in the mid '90's and this cassette includes everything they released at the time.

Comprising Dave Dixey, Mark Gilbert and Steve Parker, they formed in 1992 as Teenage Lust. Under this name they released the "Thirteenth Floor" cassette in 1993, the first release on Dave's Sorted Records label (TL 001). The 7 tracks from that tape form side two of this tape. After a name change to Lid, they released "Lady Mayonnaise"/"Suzi Q" as a 7" single (Sorted Records SRS 001) in 1994, followed by "Blue Rubber Moon", "Scream And Cry" (SRS 002). Later the same year, "Tomsk 7", "Out of Control" and "Crooked Finger" were all recorded at the same session in 1995 and released on the "Frownland" compilation 7" EP (SRS 005), the "Ashtray Heart" compilation CD (SRCD1) and the "Each Pillow Is Tethered Like A Rock" compilation cassette (SRC 003) respectively. The "mellow mix" of "Scream And Cry" dates from the time of the single version, but was not released until it was included on the "Havock Junction" compilation CD (SRCD9) in 2001. All the above mentioned vinyl and CD's (and many other Sorted releases) are still available.
